The African and African American Studies minor invites students to study the peoples, histories, and cultures of Africa and people of African descent in the United States, Caribbean, Latin America, and other places where there is an African diaspora presence. The program provides a stimulating combination of intellectual engagement in its course offerings and cultural involvement through a variety of events that address aspects of the African and African diasporic experiences.
